Hi, my name is Chance & I've been at the Gulf Coast Humane Society since April '08. I'm 2 ½ yrs old and love to play and run. I would love to have a family that is outgoing and energetic to keep up with my playful personality. I also am in need of a family that has the patience to teach me sign language because I am deaf, but that doesn't stop me from doing all the same things a normal dog can do.

This handsome boy is Ogar, he is a 5 yr old hound mix who loves attention. He loves for you to get down on the ground with him so he can smother you with hugs and kisses and cuddle. He also is very well housebroken and prefers short walks so he can take care of business and soak up some of the sun and fresh air. Ogar loves to play with teenagers but small children make him nervous, and because of all the affection he loves to get, and gives right back, he prefers to be the only animal in the home.

My name is Dott. I am a very energetic 2 ½ yr old pointer mix and I love to run and jump and play fetch with a ball. However I think I may be too energetic for a family with young children because I get very excited and may knock them over, and I also love all the attention for myself. I have been at the shelter for a year now and would really love to find my forever home.

Cape is a very loving 6 yr old hound mix who has been with us since Feb. '08. He has a weakness for having his back scratched, he will lay there for as long as you want to give him the attention. Cape loves to play fetch with anything you throw, and would be a great dog for someone with children to play with him. He also plays well with female dogs and would love to go home as a playmate in some ones family.

Meet Meeko, she is a 13 ½ yr old little sweetie pie. She's the perfect cat to keep a lonely person company, because she loves to talk. Meeko is also declawed on all four paws, so she would be perfect for an elderly person. Once she feels comfortable with you, she will sit on your lap and let you pet or brush her for hours.

Bease is a very special cat that we have all grown fond of at the shelter because he has been with us since Dec. '07. He has his own routine around here in the mornings while we clean, he has free roam of the lobby area at that time. When he's feeling like he wants some attention he will rub up against your legs and follow you around until he gets it, especially rubbing his belly. When he's had enough he lets you know that to. He would probably do better in a family with older children who understand Bease does his own thing when he wants to.

Molly is also special to us at GCHS, she has been here since April '08. She is a very independent 6 yr old who pretty much keeps to herself until she has gotten to know you. Once she has bonded she gets very attached and wants to be on your lap for routine brushings, and will sit there until your arms give out. She has shown some fondness toward men in the past, but won't rule out women. Molly doesn't care too much for places with a lot of activity going on, she prefers calm, quiet places.
